Comedian and star of AMC’s The Walking Dead, Josh McDermitt began his career in the entertainment industry by calling into the Tim & Willy show, a local Phoenix radio program, at a young age. Parlaying his innate talent for mimicry and creating new voices, McDermitt kept listeners and Tim & Willy in stitches during his on air appearances. McDermitt then began working with the hosts as a producer, following them to both shows on other area radio stations.
McDermitt’s first national television exposure came via the NBC’s game show Last Comic Standing in 2006. Although he did not win, his appearance lead to being cast in the TV movie Rehab for Rejects and the feature film Madison Hall. From 2011 – 2012, McDermitt had a main role on the sitcom Retired at 35 playing the character Brandon.
Following an appearance in the landmark AMC series Mad Men on two episodes in 2014, McDermitt was cast as Eugene Porter, a character from The Walking Dead comic book, for the fourth season of the TV series of the same name. He returned to the role for the series’ fifth and sixth seasons. McDermitt can next be seen in the films Middle Man and Odious.
