Mindy Wheeler is a published Penciler and Colorist with IDW (Rom: Revolution), Zenescope (Grimm Fairy Tales), and Rothic Comics (Rem: 8, DiVinica). She is also currently working on her own creator owned comic. Mindy not only draws, but inks and colors all of her own work. Well known for some of her stand-alone original pieces such as the “Female Mad Hatter”, “Glinda”, and “Vanity Angel”, Mindy’s style can be recognized as realistic, expressive, and detail oriented. She uses many mediums, some outside the scope of traditional comic book mediums, such as gouche paints, oil paints, and masterfully shaded pencils. Recognized consistently throughout her education she was youngest pupil to showcase her artwork in a Tempe gallery at 14 and won the Phoenix Film Festival Storyboard Contest a year later. At 19 years old, she became Director of Design for an online newspaper creating art and visual campaigns for small businesses and the newspaper itself. Her professional career continued in marketing where she did a bit of everything including consulting, traveling, and managing businesses as a Marketing Director. After many excursions, she turned back to pen and paper, intent on doing what she always loved to do – express herself through her own artwork. Taking the comic industry by storm through conventions and comic shops nationwide, she is now recognized as a popular visual artist throughout the country.
