Ted McKeever’s first published work, Transit, appeared in 1986, establishing his trademark style. It was followed by his critically acclaimed series, Eddy Current. The following years brought about such creator-owned titles as Plastic Forks, Metropol, Industrial Gothic, META4, Miniature Jesus, and The Superannuated Man. These seminal works are quintessential McKeever: darkly humorous, showing an “ordinary” person caught up in extra-ordinary events. Though his artistic style is distorted, and far less clean than many of his contemporaries, he has also produced alternate interpretations of some of Marvel’s most popular characters, such as Spider-Man, Wolverine and Dr. Strange, as well as DC’s Batman and Superman characters. His forthcoming 5-issue series, PENCIL HEAD, is scheduled for a January 2016 release from Image/Shadowline.
